Clay Coil Technique

Lesson Goal:

Design & create a clay vessel using the coil technique that matches your original design.

Target 1: create 10 different silhouette drawings of possible vessels and create a full size silhouette of your final design, it should as tall as your vessel will be tall, as wide as it will be wide.  you should be able to hold the drawing behind you vessel when you are done and they match up.

Target 2: cut out the base shape of your vessel and begin adding coils

Target 3: continue building up coils and checking it against your full size design

Target 4: refine your coil vessel, evening, shaping, and smoothing.
